How does Shef work for businesses?
Two ways. Team meals: we deliver chef-made meals to your office or your employees' homes on a regular schedule, and everyone picks their own. Gift cards: send Shef credit to employees or clients, and they order the meals they want, when they want them.
How is this different from catering?
Catering is one hot meal, one day, one menu everyone has to agree on. With Shef, everyone picks their own from dozens of cuisines and hundreds of dishes, and because meals arrive chilled, one delivery feeds your team for days.
Is there a minimum order?
Orders start at 4 meals per delivery. Discounted team pricing starts at 40 meals, and the per-meal price drops as you order more. Gift card orders get a discount that grows with the total. We'll walk through pricing for your team on the call.
Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. Everyone filters the menu for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and more, and picks only what works for them. Every dish lists its ingredients.
How do you vet your chefs?
Fewer than 5% of chefs who apply make it onto Shef, and each one is taste-tested by our culinary team before cooking for customers. See our Food Safety page for how we handle safety.
Where do you deliver?
The New York, Los Angeles, SF Bay Area, Chicago, Seattle, Boston, Washington DC, Austin, Dallas and Houston metro areas. Gift card recipients need an address in one of those areas, so tell us where your team is and we'll check coverage before you buy.
What if someone doesn't like their meal?
We have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If a meal isn't right, tell us and we'll make it right.
